Holiday Lighted Parade Participants:

Get ready to spread some serious holiday cheer at the 25th Annual Yakima Lighted Holiday Parade on Sunday, December 1, 2024! We’re lighting up the streets starting at 6:00 PM, and we’re thrilled to partner with Yakima Federal Savings and Loan to bring you the most festive parade of the year!

🎅 Santa Alert! He’ll be making a grand appearance at the end of the parade, so make sure to snap your "Selfies with Santa" in front of the Capitol Theatre—it’s the perfect way to capture those holiday memories!

This year’s festive parade kicks off at the Salvation Army, traveling down Yakima Avenue before turning onto 3rd Street and finishing in front of the Capitol Theatre. The excitement doesn’t stop there—join us for the grand finale with the official lighting of Yakima’s holiday tree! It’s an event you won’t want to miss!

So bundle up, grab your friends and family, and come downtown to enjoy the holiday spirit! Let’s support our local businesses, our community, and make this the jolliest celebration yet!

Here are some very important reminders and details for the upcoming parade:

  1. Sign in location: Please remember to check in at registration in the Salvation Army Parking lot. . This is our designated check-in point, and it will help us ensure a smooth and organized start to the parade.

  2. INSURANCE: All vehicles must show LIABILITY INSURANCE at sign-in before you will be allowed on the parade route.

  3. All entries must provide insurance, if you have not sent in your insurance you must show it at registration. If you fail to do so, you will be stopped until you show insurance. No exceptions.

  4. Line-Up Time: Line up for the parade will begin at 5:00 PM Please check in at the Sign- In location when you arrive and a volunteer will help you line up.

  5. Parade Start Time: The 2024 Holiday Parade will officially kick off at 6:00 p.m. We encourage all participants to be ready by this time to ensure the parade starts promptly at 6 p.m.

  6. Line-Up Information: This is a first come first serve line up. We will NOT be creating an official line up so come early to get a good spot.

  7. Candy Throwing: Handing out candy is okay but PLEASE DO NOT THROW IT. remember it is a night time parade so please be extra careful as we do not want kids running into the streets.

  8. Bathrooms: There are bathrooms provided at the sign-in location and in staging areas.

  9. Volunteers: Your parade committee will have YELLOW High- Visibility on . They will be there to help you find your staging locations and to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks to a donation from our presenting sponsor, Yakima Federal Savings and Loan, this year’s Sunfair Parade is free to all participants. Entries will be limited to register early.




OVERALL DETAILS

A.   Date and Time of Parade: Sunday, December 1, 2024 6:00 p.m. Sharp

B.   Description of Applicants: The Yakima Holiday Parade is pleased to invite many different sorts of Entries, including but not limited to floats, bicycles, emergency vehicles, military vehicles, car clubs, novelty entries, commercial or business entries, equestrian entries, etc., to apply to participate in our parade.

D.   PARADE ROUTE: The "Starting Point" for the Parade is on 6th Ave., starting in front of the Salvation Army. The “Ending Point” is on 3rd Ave in front of the Capital Theater. Specific instructions will be part of parade details, but also are subject to change and to circumstances at the parade itself.

E.   Parade Formation: This is a first come first line up so come early and get a good spot.

F.   Santa Rules: There can only be ONE Santa. it gets super confusing for kids if there are more than one. So PLEASE do NOT have a Santa on your float, as he will make his official appearance at the end of the parade.

G. Entry Fees: FREE!

H. Information will be emailed and posted the Wednesday prior to the parade.
